The municipality of Athens cancelled the "Christmas Eve - Night of Wishes event due to the increase of COVID-19 cases.
In an announcement made on Wednesday, the municipality said:
"With a sense of responsibility and due to the increase of COVID-19 infections, the municipality of Athens decided to cancel the Christmas Eve-Night of Wishes event with aim of keeping us safe in the holidays and the wish that next year we are all together again."
