Albert Bourla of Pfizer is the CNN Business CEO of the Year

Pfizer’s Greek CEO Dr. Albert Bourla named a Father of the Year

CNN Business has named Pfizer (PFE) CEO Albert Bourla as the CEO of the year.

Business considered several other influential CEOs for this year's honour, including Lisa Su of AMD, Ford's Jim Farley, Marvin Ellison of Lowe's, David Solomon of Goldman Sachs, Alphabet's Sundar Pichai.

Bourla was chosen for the award as the Covid-19 pandemic is far from over. But life in many ways has returned to something resembling normal for many due to too large part because there are now multiple coronavirus vaccines, including one from Pfizer.

And that's one of the main reasons CNN Business has named Pfizer (PFE) CEO Albert Bourla as the CEO of the year stated CNN.

Dr Bourla was born in Thessaloniki, Greece to a family with deep roots in the city’s Sephardic Jewish community. His parents were among the few to survive the Holocaust in the Greek port city. Although Dr Bourla now lives in New York, he is deeply connected to his Greek Jewish roots.

In this “Legacies” program, Dr Bourla is interviewed by Robert Krulwich, science and technology journalist and longtime host of the double Peabody Award-winning show Radiolab. They discuss Dr Bourla’s experience as the son of Holocaust survivors and how his family and upbringing have informed his accomplished career.
