Greek Orthodox graves were vandalised on Christmas day 2021 in Melbourne (video)

Vandals have targeted more than 100 graves at the Fawkner Cemetery in Melbourne’s north, leaving families devastated on Christmas day.

Victorian Police are investigating the break-in in the Faknwer memorial park.

Back in 2018 Vandals trashed gravestones at Fawkner Cemetery twice that year and families of the deceased had called out the trust of better security and cameras.

Fawkner Memorial Park is located in the north-western Melbourne suburb of Fawkner, Victoria, Australia. It is the largest cemetery by land size in the state and is managed by Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust.

The cemetery could not be reached for comment.
