Dendias to visit French frigate shipyards and African countries in January

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias will continue in the coming days his diplomatic marathon in order to promote the positions of Greece but also to consolidate the ties that he has built, according to diplomatic sources.

According to Euronews, he is expected to travel to Vienna on New Year's Eve at the official invitation of his Austrian counterpart Alexander Salenberg, where he is expected to attend a working lunch.

Earlier, also at the invitation of Salenberg, the two Foreign Ministers will attend the New Year's concert to be performed by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.

Dendias is expected to receive in Athens on January 4 the Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal.

The Saudi minister's visit comes following Dendias' visit to Riyadh last April, as well as the participation of the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia in the Philia Forum in Athens.

The foreign minister is expected to visit two of Sub-Saharan Africa's largest economic powers, Nigeria and Angola, between January 9 and 11.

The foreign minister is then expected to travel to Brest for the informal EU Council of Foreign Ministers.

During his stay in France, Dendias is expected to visit the shipyard where the new Greek frigates are being built and to have bilateral contacts with his counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian.

This will also have the participation of the Greek and French Ministers of Defence, Nikos Panagiotopoulos and Florence Parly.
