SERRES: 107-year-old yiayia was vaccinated because she missed her friends

A 107-year-old grandmother from Gazoro in Serres was vaccinated on Wednesday at her home by the medical staff of the Nea Zichni Health Centre.

"I wanted to get vaccinated because I missed the company of my neighbours because of the coronavirus," the yiayia (grandmother), who was born in 1914, told the vaccination team.

Although born in 1914, her official documents say 1918.

"Cases of vaccination like the yiayia in Serres offer great emotion. We are doubly happy because the vaccine not saves but also unites people," commented health official Irini Hatzopoulou.
