An ambulance belonging to a private clinic in Athens was transporting about 320 kilos of hashish when it was discovered by police at the entrance of Egnatia Odos in Igoumenitsa, Epirus.
The ambulance aroused police suspicion and they stopped it for inspection.
As soon as they opened the door they saw the bags of Indian hemp.
The 41-year-old local driver of the vehicle was arrested and the drugs were confiscated.
The police investigation is ongoing.
