Greek Australian student Billy Bourdaniotis from St Spyridon College Maroubra in Sydney New South Wales has scored an amazing 99.95 in this year’s Higher School Certificate exams. This is the first-ever 99.95 the College has ever received, and the community is astronomically proud of his achievement.
Bourdaniotis joins many other Greek Australian students who reached the top of their game in the HSC exams, given they had to study through two years of a pandemic that has compromised student life across the country.
“I am still in shock… I have many people to thank for being role models and mentors to me especially my teachers, my Year Adviser and Head of College.”
This year, 48 students got the highest possible ATAR of 99.95. Of these students, 14 were female and 34 were male.
This morning, 66,710 students across NSW got their HSC results with nearly 76,400 students studying one or more HSC courses this year.
Overall, the median ATAR for girls was slightly higher, at 71.80, than that for boys, which was 68.70.
There were a total of 110 written exams, which took a combined total of 350 hours.
More than 700,000 exam papers were marked at 750 exam centres, with each exam reviewed at least six times.
NESA scanned a total of 8.2 million exam pages and used 7000 boxes and 51 kilometres of security wrapping.
