In front of a boisterous crowd on Kia Arena, Nick Kyrgios & Thanasi Kokkinakis have moved into the third round of the AusOpen, taking down 3x major winners & No. 1 seeds Mate Pavic & Nikola Mektic 7-6(8), 6-3.
They seem to be very hungry to succeed thereafter their singles run ended with disappointment (only slightly for Kyrgios, Kokkinakis was out of fuel against Hanfmann). Even with 50% capacity, they're really feeding off the energy from the crowd. Both excel on the big stage too and the pressure moments.
Maybe Nick Kyrgios and Kokkinakis will win a Grand Slam in the doubles first.
