Police instructed motorists on Monday to use snow chains when driving in central Athens due to the heavy snowfall.
“We appeal to all drivers using streets where snow or ice is evident to use snow chains, at least on the two powered wheels,” an official statement said.
Athens has seen heavy snowfall as a severe weather front, dubbed “Elpis,” has hit Greece.
Earlier, police recommended the use of snow chains in the wider Attica region.
