Michaela Laki from Greece is through to the QF of the Aus Open juniors

Michaela Laki d. Dominika Salkova 6-3 6-7(5)  7-6(8) in a match that lasted almost 2.5 hours and was completed in the tie break of the third set.

Laki (No13) started the game perfectly, easily winning the first set 6-3. The 17-year-old Czech in turn managed to take the second set 7-5 and so the two of them were led to the third set which she won 7-6

Laki saved 4 match points from 1-5 down in the third.

She becomes the first Greek into a junior Grand Slam girls’ singles QF since Eleni Daniilidou at the 1999 US Open!

Next up she plays L.Hovde from the USA
