Metropolitan of Ilia: Priests who do not get vaccinated will be punished

Metropolitan of Ilia Germanos

With a strict letter, the Metropolitan Germanos of Ilia invited the unvaccinated priests of the Diocese of Ilia to state the reason why they have not yet been vaccinated against COVID-19 and to document their position on the pandemic with medical evidence.

According to Odigos, which also published the letter from the Metropolitan of Ilia, he informed his colleagues that in case of illness - those who are not vaccinated - will be punished because they would have abstained from their duties for no reason.

Closing the letter, His Holiness again called on the priests to be vaccinated.

Meanwhile, students and teachers at schools shut down after the snowstorm must complete COVID-19 self-tests before returning to classes on Monday, whether they are vaccinated or not, the Education Ministry said on Saturday.

That first week of reopening (Jan. 31-Feb. 4), students should do a total of three self-tests up to 24 hours before attending classes on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.
