The burglars who tried to break into the house of kickboxing champion Michalis Zambidis, also known as "Iron Mike Zambidis", at the end of November 2021 were identified.
The two would-be burglars were located after extensive investigations and with their main tool being the video that the partner of Zambidis had managed to take from the yard of the house.
From here, the burglars could be identified.
According to Sputnik Hellas, one of the burglars is a Roma adult and the other a minor of Albanian nationality.
The 19-year-old, who was located at his home, was taken to be questioned by police.
During this interview process, he gave the name of his accomplice.
A case was filed against the two young men, which was submitted on January 27, 2022 to the prosecutors.
It is reminded that the invasion of the boxer's house had taken place in the afternoon.
Zambidis had caught them in the act
The two would-be burglars tried to rob the house of Zambidis but were confronted by the world kick boxing champion.
"Iron Mike" was driving home with his partner when he saw a young man jumping over the yard.
He immediately stopped the car and said to the would-be thief "what are you doing here?".
When they noticed who it was they got excited and said they were there to ask for his autograph.
The Greek champion notified them that they were being recorded.
Zambidis insisted on what they were doing and the young perpetrator lied that some of his acquaintances lived here, apparently not knowing whose house he was trying to rob.
Then, the kickboxer approached him and saw his accomplice from behind, who put him on his feet.
The young man also went to leave, but "Iron Mike" warned him: "I will run to catch you and hit you".
Zambidis called the Police, but the would-be burglars left a minute before they arrived.
