"Backgammon" is a one-act play written by Dimitris Kehaidis and directed by Louis Sarris.
The play is a comedy of two authentic yet familiar characters, tragic and comic at the same time, Fontas, a backgammon player, and Kolias, a lottery seller, who vividly portray the modern Greek mentality and dreams.
One afternoon, they begin setting up the scheme of the century that would help them "strike it rich". Written, first performed, and set in the 1970s, it is one of the most emblematic Greek plays of the post-WW2 era, still relevant today.
