Nikolaos Holevas Gil Dolov defense Israel AMNA

In what is another diplomatic milestone for Greece, on Tuesday the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS)  announced that Greece and Israel have just signed a Defence Cooperation Agreement.

It was signed by HNDGS's Director of International Relations Brigadier General Nikolaos Holevas, and Head of the International Cooperation Department of the General Staff of Israel's Armed Forces Colonel Gil Dolov.

The program also includes actions agreed in the context of the Greece-Cyprus-Israel Joint Action Plan 2022.

Meanwhile on Tuesday night, Greek parliament approved the National Defence Ministry's bill for the strengthening of the country's defensive shield, per its title, in a plenary vote.

It was favoured by New Democracy, Movement for Change (KINAL) and Greek Solution but was rejected by the Communist Party of Greece and MeRA25. SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance voted 'present' in the proceedings.
