Celebrating Greek Cinema for the 200th Anniversary of the Greek Revolution

The initiative of the Greek Film Academy MOTHERLAND I SEE YOU, will revive parts of the history of Greek Cinema in February in Sydney as part of the 40th Greek Festival of Sydney.

Motherland I see you premieres in Sydney on 24 February at the National Maritime Museum with the film Z. During the Film Festival that will run through until 27 February, and with the support of Finos Films, six more films will be screened, including John the ViolentThe Travelling Players, From the Edge of the City, Macedonian Wedding, Anna’s Engagement and Madalena.

The promotion of Greek cinema abroad, in collaboration with local organisations, has always been the aspiration of this programme. Like always, screenings are taking place under the auspice of the organising committee of “Greece 2021”. Major sponsor is the National Centre of Audiovisual Media and Communication- EKOME, and committee event sponsors are the Greek Film Centre, Athens Epidaurus Festival and Thessaloniki Film Festival with the support of Greek Film Archive, Film Museum and Finos Film.

The films are being screened in Sydney with the support of National Maritime Museum and MastaPlasta. All screenings are free however bookings are essential.
