The Federation of Hellenic Societies of Philadelphia and Greater Delaware Valley announced that the Evzones, the Presidential Guard of Greece will be participating in the Philadelphia Greek Independence Day Parade on March 20.
After a two-year hiatus, Philadelphia will once again be marching to celebrate Greek Independence Day in March.
The Presidential Guard of Greece will be in attendance the weekend of the Greek Parade in Philadelphia which includes the flag-raising event on March 18 at City Hall and the Dignitaries Banquet at Adelphia's on March 19.
Among those scheduled to attend is His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, His Grace Bishop Apostolos of Medeia, AHEPA Supreme President Jimmy Kokotas, Daughters of Penelope Grand President Kathy Bizoukas, Grand Marshal Honorary Consul General of Panama in Philadelphia Georgia Athanasopoulos, and the Eleftheria Award honoree George Horiates.
This year will be the first Greek Parade during the tenure of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros.
