A meeting under the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis was held today in relation to Ukraine at the Maximos Palace, with the participation of the Minister of National Defence Nikos Panagiotopoulos and the Chief of the Greek military, General Konstantinos Floros.
The Prime Minister was briefed on the military situation in Ukraine.
With his decision, Athens responded to Kiev's request, in consultation with its allies in NATO and partners in the EU, to send defence equipment with two C-130s transport aircraft, which will depart for Poland.
Also during the day, significant humanitarian aid will be sent, which will be accompanied by the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Nikos Hardalias.
The meeting was also attended by the Secretary General of the Prime Minister Grigoris Demitriadis and Ambassador Anna-Maria Boura.
According to sources, the Greek aircraft are delivering ammunition, Kalashnikov rifles and launchers to Ukraine.
