The Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM) has sent letters to the Ukrainian community in Australia to express their support of the Ukrainian people and condemn Russia’s invasion of their country.
In his letter to the leadership of the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations and Association of Ukrainians in Victoria, the President of the Greek Community of Melbourne Mr Bill Papastergiadis wrote:
“The Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM) condemns the aggression against the
people of Ukraine and supports its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
We stand in solidarity with our local Ukrainian community members.
The GCM in particular fears for the wellbeing of the large Greek community in the
Ukraine and we stand in support of them and the entire Ukrainian nation.”
