Olena Zelenska, an influencer with 2.3 million followers on Instagram and the wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, posted a video - a message from Emine Erdoğan, the wife of the Turkish president, to her and the Ukrainian people.

In the video comment, Olena praised Turkey, writing:

"The Turkish word Bayraktar - meaning a 'Standard-bearer' - has become a household name in Ukraine in the last few days," she wrote on Instagram.

"These drones help us to defend our country from invaders.

"In this way, Turkey fights together with us for the freedom and safety of the whole world.

"However, not only weapons defend us.

"The word of truth is also a powerful force during the war that Russia has waged against us on the information front.

"Here is the truth from our great ally, the First Lady of Turkey, Emine Erdoğan about what is happening in Ukraine."

Zelenska met with her Turkish counterpart in Kyiv in early February, just weeks before the war began.

Together, they presented a Turkish-language audio guide at the Sofia Kyivska National Reserve.

The First Lady of Turkey arrived in Ukraine in the framework of the visit of President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on February 3.

This day marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries. The relevant protocol was signed in 1992.

"But we know that relations between our countries did not begin 30 years ago, they have a centuries-old history," said Olena Zelenska.

She also thanked Mrs. Emine Erdoğan for supporting her initiatives, including the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen held on August 23, 2021 in Kyiv.

"Without real political power, the spouses of world leaders instead have the tools of soft power," the wife of the President of Ukraine said.
