“He’s the Greek god, not me?” – Postecoglou Jokes

Giorgos Giakoumakis and Ange Postecoglou at Lennoxtown

The 56-year-old was full of praise for hat-trick Greek hero Giorgos Giakoumakis but couldn't resist a one liner.

The Greek striker was tremendous again today, scoring two goals in the first half before a penalty sealed his hat-trick.

It will take a weight off his shoulders scoring the penalty. His miss against Livingston will have been playing on his mind as he sent the keeper the wrong way.

After a tough start at Celtic, Giakoumakis has turned things around and is now scoring for fun. Many fans will have eaten their words.

Speaking to Celtic TV, Postecoglou joked after he was asked about the “Greek God’s” performance;

“He’s the Greek god, not me? All right, fair enough.

“He’s done well, he’s taken his goals really well, he benefits from the work of others and he knows that.

“With all our strikers, the rewards are there for you with the way we play, but we’ve got to invest in working hard when he don’t have the ball.

“I thought both him and Daizen today were super with our press, I thought Jota was really good today.”

Giakoumakis’ performance was top-class today. He made himself a nuisance for the County defence. His runs were great, too; the opposition’s defence could not cope with him
