Greece's newly acquired Rafale fighter jets was shown to Athenians for the first time as they participated in the parade commemorating the Greek War of Independence, which began on March 25, 1821.
This year, the military parade for the 201st anniversary of the Greek national struggle against four hundred years of brutal Ottoman Turkish occupation was held with brilliance.
This year's parade was attended for the first time this year by the Greek Rafale fighter jets, which recently joined the Air Force.
To commemorate this national day, the fighter jets flew over Greece's iconic symbol, the Acropolis of Athens.

It is recalled that the first six fighters had arrived at Tanagra air base last January.
The French-made fighter jets are twin-engine, multi-role fighters. This means that they can simultaneously perform missions of different types, such as air superiority, offensive impact, reconnaissance, etc.

The Rafale fighter jets have the ability to track a target and launch an air-to-air missile without having to reveal its location thanks to Thales's OSF system.
