Stefanos Tsitsipas recorded the 50th Masters 1000 win of his career tonight, defeating American J.J. Wolf in Miami, 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-1.

Tsitsipas is just the 8th player born in 1990 or later to reach that milestone, and the 1st born in 1998 or later to do it.

When Stefanos Tsitsipas cleaned the Acapulco court with Wolf a few weeks ago, he certainly angered the American who proved very tough to beat tonight 6-4 6-7(5) 6-1.

It was a close match as the American had picked up some decent form in the past few weeks playing on home soil. He has a very dangerous game with a strong first serve and extremely hard-hitting groundstrokes. All of that was on display in this match as the first set was settled by one break. The 2nd set was a close one as Wolf put everything he got into it.

He was able to break Tsitsipas early in the 2nd set but eventually, the Greek did battle back. Both players found a rhythm as the set progressed and we ended up in a very entertaining tiebreak. Both produced some magical moments with Wlf eventually getting it 7-5 thanks to some brave play in key moments. It was a physically taxing and emotionally draining set for Wolf who celebrated it.

Ultimately he could not find enough fuel to do it again in the final set. Tsitsipas remained calm and he allowed Wolf to play himself out of the match. Too many errors and too little patience from the American down the stretch. It resembled their Acapulco clash which Tsitsipas won with 6-1 6-0.
