Aaron Eckhart gets attacked while filming a chaotic protest scene in Greece

The Bricklayer started filming last month in Greece, with Eckhart

American movie star Aaron Eckhart was in the midst of a chaotic protest scene while filming his new movie The Bricklayer.

The 54-year-old actor was spotted in Thessaloniki, Greece on Thursday as filming continues on the action-thriller, based on the 2010 book by former FBI agent Noah Boyd.

Eckhart, who plays a former CIA agent named Steven Vail, is seen trying to destroy a scaffolding in the scene, while co-stars such as Clifton Collins Jr. were also seen on set.

The movie pursues Eckhart's character Vail, a former CIA agent who is brought back in when someone has been killing foreign journalists and pinning the killings on the CIA.

He's tasked with hunting down the killer while also facing his own personal demons along the way.

The film is directed by Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2) from a script by Matt Johnson (Tracers) and Hanna Weg (Septembers of Shiraz) also stars Nina Dobrev, Tim Blake Nelson and Ilfenesh Hadera.
