New tourism campaign launched for Greece's 2022 hotspot islands

A €2 million campaign is aimed at attracting tourists to five of Greece's hotspot islands for 2022 that were formerly overwhelmed by migration influxes was announced on Friday.

Migration & Asylum Minister Notis Mitarachi and the Greek National Tourism Organisation's (GNTO) General Secretary Dimitris Fragakis met on the day to discuss the continuation of the successful campaign 'Greek4ForYou'.

Specifically, the campaign relates to the five islands of Chios, Lesvos, Leros, Samos and Kos.

The migration ministry will fund GNTO with 2 million euros for the promotion in Greece and also abroad of these five eastern Aegean islands for 2022-2023.
