Greece has two beaches on Europe's top 10 beaches list

The TripAdvisor website recently unveiled its list of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Two Beaches in Greece of course made the list.

Here you can escape the crowds and get amazingly lost among serene bays with fine golden sand, crystal clear waters and breathtaking scenery.

Monolia Island is the largest of the group and has tourist facilities with umbrellas, snacks, drinks and water sports. Going around on one of the islets there are some Roman ruins to explore and on another a lone lighthouse.

Εxplore a spectacular wreck in the west, and maybe you will have a pleasant contact with a cute family of seals, which for some years have been chosen as a permanent residence in this area. The seals are very friendly and make appearances and pose for tourists during the day.

You can go by boat from kammena Vourla or by Aidipsos to Kavos and take the small boat tour.

Elafonissi Beach at number 8 on the southwest coast of Crete, you will find one of the most magical beaches. Elafonissi is one of the exotic beaches of Crete, about 80 km far from Chania. It is characterized by white sand dunes, clear blue and shallow water, and the peace and tranquillity it offers its visitors.

The landscape of Elafonissi will leave you speechless as it is rare to meet something similar in the rest of Greece. To get to Elafonisi you can take the suburban bus or go there by car. Also, after walking a few minutes to the west, you can easily reach the Cedar forest. One thing is certain: A visit to this beautiful beach will be an unforgettable experience!

This selection, drawn up based on the preferences of travellers from all over the world, offers other surprises, including the presence of a Polish beach. While the destination is usually associated with city breaks, the top 10 reveals that Poland can also be a spot for a seaside stay, thanks to the Hel peninsula, located in the north, on the Baltic Sea. Hel Beach, in 10th place, can be reached by flying to Gdansk, where a huge 35 km long strip of sand awaits.
