Rafael Nadal to open tennis centre in Hong Kong joins one already running in Greece

The Rafa Nadal Academy is to open a new facility in Hong Kong that offers "high-quality tennis training", the organization confirmed on Tuesday.

The Hong Kong facility will be the third Rafael Nadal Tennis Center, following similar facilities in Costa Mujeres (Mexico) and on the Halkidiki peninsula in Greece.

The Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre on the Halkidiki Peninsula is one of Greece’s premier tourist locations.

Located in the Sani Resort, a stunning complex of more than 400 hectares, the Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre comprises 8 clay courts on which tennis courses are available to players of all ages and standards.

The goal is to provide high-quality tennis coaching so that guests and residents of the area can play and take classes as part of various programmes that are customised according to the different player profiles.

These programmes have been developed through an exclusive training system, based on the successful experience acquired by Rafa Nadal and his coaching staff during more than 15 years on the professional tour.

The Sani Resort, located less than one hour from Thessaloniki, one of the capitals of European culture, has established itself as one of the biggest holiday destinations in the Mediterranean. Its wide range of leisure activities and stunning surroundings bring significant added value so that tennis lovers can take a holiday in paradise while they improve their technique and enjoy a luxury resort with all mod cons.

Nadal also runs an academy on the Spanish island of Mallorca, where he is from.

In a press communique, the organization said that the decision to open a centre in Hong Kong was reached with the help of the Hong Kong Golf & Tennis Academy (HKGTA).

"We are very excited about this new international project in Hong Kong. Since the opening of the academy in Mallorca five years ago, we have always found it very interesting to be able to expand our methodology to more countries in order to reach as many people as possible," commented Nadal.

"The facilities are spectacular and we will have great coaches at the head of the Rafa Nadal Tennis Center. I am convinced that it will be a success and that little by little we can continue to increase our international expansion," he added.
