Dead whale washed ashore on the island of Rhodes


A dead whale four meters long was washed ashore today on one of the beaches of Rhodes.

The unusual incident was first observed by local residents in what appeared a disoriented whale in shallow water. Apparently the mamamal had been injured. Veterinarians and divers arrived at the scene to help the mammal.

According to it was discovered by people on their early morning walk. They immediately reported the beached whale to the local fire department.

The municipality of Rhodes and the Forest Service have also been informed and will help with the investigation.

While the causes of death of the marine life remain unknown an autopsy will be carried out by specialists as they try to work out what had happened to the whale.
