Pop star Ariana Grande attended brother Frankie Grande’s wedding to Hale Leon on May 4, stealing the show in a Vera Wang bra top and skirt at the “Star Wars”-themed ceremony, but sparking debate with only social media users.
The 28-year-old walked down the aisle with husband Dalton Gomez, dressed in a custom black lamé sculpted bra top and matching high-slit skirt by the legendary designer and tied her hair half-up with a black silk bow.
Her makeup artist Ash Holm used the “7 Rings” singer’s own R.E.M Beauty line for a bronzed look.
While Ariana remained loyal to Wang — who also created her custom Audrey Hepburn-inspired wedding dress last year — the grooms wore Dolce & Gabbana suits, with Frankie in a white lace look and Hale in black crystals.
Following the wedding, Wang shared photos of Grande’s look on social media, where fans were divided by the appropriateness of the singer’s outfit choice.
“Girl doing too much…Reminder, it’s not your wedding,” one person wrote.

“Why wear something attention-grabbing to someone’s wedding?” another person tweeted. “That’s rude, inappropriate, and disrespectful.”
Someone else said the outfit choice was in “bad form,” while another claimed that they would have kicked Grande out if she’d worn the designer clothes to their wedding.

However, other fans came to the singer’s defence, with many defending Grande on the basis that her outfit fit the theme of the wedding, and was likely approved by her brother before the nuptials.
“It was a gay wedding where the theme was Stars Wars,” one person wrote. “There were stormtrooper strippers at the wedding. She looks perfect. If Frankie loves it, who are you to say she’s doing too much?”
“Apparently, the internet is in commotion about Ariana Grande wearing a bra top to her brother’s Star Wars wedding but I saw the outfit and it looks like a Star Wars outfit if you ask me,” another fan added.
The way we all know Frankie was living for this and Ariana probably ran it by Frankie for an opinion. https://t.co/AI6dTF1SoH

Someone else wrote: “Reminder that the person getting married gets to approve of bridesmaid/groomsmen attire so I don’t know why people are pressed. It’s not your wedding and she looks amazing as always.”
“Why do they keep forgetting to include the fact that it was Star Wars-themed? I think that’s a pretty important element to include,” another person said.
Frankie recently shared photos from the ceremony on Instagram, along with details about the occasion in the caption.

“Hale and I were married at a small intimate galactic ceremony in my family home in Florida on May the 4th be with you, cause we really are both that nerdy,” the former Big Brother star wrote. “It was the most beautiful ceremony, officiated by my incredible mother, and it brought us even closer together as we took our vows before our immediate families and before God!”
After searching for her roots, Ariana publicly declared that she has Italian ancestry. Specifically, she is half-Abruzzese and half-Sicilian. Sicily and Abbruzzo are both Italian states in the modern day Italy. Both her parents are descended from an Italian family.
Deeper research into her roots has shown her to be half North African and half Greek, which still would point back to her Italian origin.
In Antiquity, Sicily – along with large portions of mainland southern Italy – was known as Magna Graecia, a sort of Greek province; colonial settlements coming from the Greek peninsula and archipelago were numerous, especially along the eastern and southern coasts.
Even today, entire, impressive cities with the vestiges of the era are clearly visible – just think of Siracusa and Taormina, with their magnificent Greek theatres, the open-air stages both perfectly preserved and 1,500 and 1,700 years old, respectively.
Born in Boca Raton, Florida, Grande began her career at age 15 in the 2008 Broadway musical ’13’.
She rose to fame for her role as Cat Valentine in the Nickelodeon television series Victorious (2010–2013) and Sam & Cat (2013–2014).
Ariana Grande has received various accolades throughout her career, including one Grammy Award, one Brit Award, two Billboard Music Awards, three American Music Awards, nine MTV Video Music Awards, and eight Guinness World Records.
Outside of music, Grande is known for her fashion, and signature ponytail hairdo.
Since 2019, Grande is the most followed woman on Instagram.
