The “Tiger Meet” exercise is held until May 20, at Araxos Air Base and is hosted for the first time by the 335 Squadron in Greece.
A symbolic flight of NATO fighter jets and helicopters over the Acropolis took place as part of the Tiger Meet ’22 exercise, protothema.gr reports.
Specifically, an Italian Eurofighter, two Greek and two Belgian F-16s, four French Rafale, one Swiss and one Spanish F-18 as well as two M24 helicopters from the Czech Republic flew over Athens at noon.
The exercise involves 60 fighter jets and helicopters from Greece, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, and the Czech Republic, with a complex covering a wide range of modern air warfare scenarios such as air defense/offensive operations, airpower, targeting, time-sensitive targets but also operations to suppress – destroy enemy air defenses, close air support, and naval operations.
