Greek Australian singing sensation Theoni Marks had to bow out of The Voice (Australia) despite a powerhouse performance last night during her battle with Lachie Gill.

The Voice Australia coach Rita Ora had the impossible task of deciding who to move on to the next round:  19-year old Theoni or Lachie Gill, 24, who performed It’ll be ok by Shawn Mendes in what Guy Sebastian called the “best battle of the night”.

“I just believed everything you guys were singing,” Guy said, crediting Lachie’s “cool tone” and Theoni’s “soaring” notes.

Rita Ora though decided to save Lachie but not without regretting her decision to pair the two singers for the battle, calling her decision “probably the dumbest thing I ever did”.

Speaking to Greek City Times today, the Greek Australian songstress with a bright future ahead of her was grateful to have had the opportunity to perform to Australian and international audience.

‘Since my blind audition aired I’ve been showered with endless love and support from not only my close friends and family, but from people all over the world who were moved by my performance.

"This past week and a half has been such a positive and emotional Time, that for me this battle performance was just another chance for me to connect with those people and my loved ones all over again.

"This didn’t feel like a loss to me whatsoever, getting to team Rita’s top 6 and receiving her battle pass in itself is such an incredible achievement and I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you to every one involved in making this opportunity a dream come true!" said Theoni.

Greek City Times congratulates Theoni  for her amazing achievement and looks forward to her inevitable future successes!
