Four-day YAL conference in NYC

The National Young Adult League (YAL) Weekend, a gathering of young adults from all over the country, is set for four straight days of faith, fellowship, networking, and fun from June 30 – July 4, 2022, in New York City.

Registration for the conference is now available online and the first 100 people to register are eligible for a discounted early bird registration fee.

The steering committee has arranged a variety of events with amazing speakers, panels, discussions, and networking opportunities. Conference highlights will include a comedy show at Anemos featuring the famous Basile the Comedian, Ellen Karris, Gus Constantellis, and Arianna Papalexopoulos. There will also be a trip to the beach, Greek night, a skyline bit cruise, with and a clack tie gala.

The enriching discussion panels will address a variety of topics including, “Understanding Our Faith,” which will touch on the history and structure of the Greek Orthodox Church in America, its relationship to the Ecumenical Patriarch and other Orthodox Churches, and the challenges the modern era creates for Orthodox faithful; “National Issues”, which will engage subjects such as the grant of the Tomos of Autocephaly to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the status of Hagia Sophia and the Halki Seminary, and Mental Health, among many others which are listed on the website with detailed descriptions.

Archbishop Elpidophoros of America looks forward to welcoming Orthodox Christian young adults to New York City this summer and encourages them to register for this historic gathering, stressing the crucial role of youth and young adults in the future of Orthodox Christianity in America.
