George Kambosos indicates plans to marry his partner and the mother of his three children in a 'big, fat Greek wedding' after getting $10million for Haney fight.
When George Kambosos Jnr first started dating the mother of his three children Rebecca Pereira, he had just $50 in his pocket.
Now, with a $10million payday set to come his way if he defeats Devin Haney in Melbourne in their lightweight unification boxing bout on Sunday, he wants to give her the wedding of her dreams.
'She is my wife in my eyes and the mother of my three beautiful kids, but it's time to give her the wedding she deserves,' Kambosos, who has Greek heritage, told the Herald Sun.
'Rebecca is an incredible woman. She has stood by me through thick and thin and all the ups and downs of boxing.
'I remember how hard it was at the start. I had $50 in the bank and I couldn't even afford to take her out for a sushi meal, it was pretty embarrassing to be honest.
'Now that I've enjoyed some success in boxing, I want her to have a lavish wedding for all the sacrifices she has made.'
Rebecca herself has been happy to delay the wedding while her partner focuses on his booming boxing career, but admitted their friends and family were getting worried the wedding would never come.
'There is no rush, we have three kids and that's more than a ring and a vow to me.
'We thought about doing it next year. He will be fighting again at the end of the year, so we will let this big fight settle and maybe concentrate on next year,' she said.
