Samuel Umtiti and striker Alexandre Lacazette Mykonos

Mykonos is the favourite summer destination for footballers, and Barcelona centere-back Samuel Umtiti and Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette are no exception as they are on the party island to recharge their batteries.

The two French internationals, who are friends since they played together for Lyon, in the morning enjoy the sun and the sea on the famous beaches of Mykonos and in the evening walk in the picturesque alleys of Chora.

The Mykonos Live TV camera spotted them having fun at SantAnna beach bar in Paraga, which brings together celebrities from around the world.

Alexandre Lacazette’s time in North London is coming to an end after five years.

His time at the club will likely be a topic of polarisation within the fanbase with some arguing that he had a solid time, while others will suggest that he didn’t do enough for his price and expectations. Perhaps there’s some truth in both arguments.

Signed for a then club-record £47.5m fee back in 2017, the expectations placed upon the Frenchman were high as the Gunners sought to enter a new era with Unai Emery at the helm.

After scoring 27, 21, and 28 league goals in his last three seasons in France he would never break the 20-goal threshold in the Premier League as he notched 14, 13, ten, 13, and four-goal hauls during his time in north London.

It would be hard to argue that Laca lived up to that price tag but he has also been a loyal servant to the club and as he said in his last video with the club “once a gunner, always a gunner.”

Lacazette scored 71 goals in 206 appearances for Arsenal and won the FA Cup with them in 2020.

"Laca has been a fantastic player for us," said Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

"He's been a real leader on and off the pitch and has been a very important influence to our younger players.

"His commitment with us has been exceptional and we wish him and his family success and happiness."

Lacazette scored six goals and registered eight assists in 36 appearances for Arsenal during the 2021-22 season.

He skippered the side after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was stripped of the captaincy by Arteta in December for a disciplinary breach.

The Gunners finished fifth in the Premier League at the end of the campaign, missing out on fourth place and a spot in the Champions League to north London rivals Tottenham.

"I want to keep all the good moments I had in the club, because for me it was just a pleasure to play for a club that, since I was young, I dreamt of," Lacazette recently told the Arsenal website.

"I'm really happy to have played for five years for Arsenal."

He added: "I'll keep in contact with my team-mates, with the coaches, with the club.

"I supported Arsenal since I was young, so obviously I'm going to keep supporting them. I know I will come back to the stadium as well."

Meanwhile, Samuel Umtiti is one of the players most likely to leave Barcelona.

The French centre-back does not count for Xavi Hernandez, who is looking for new players for his defence. His future could once again be linked to France, as Nice have come to the fore and are interested in the defender.

The 2018 World Cup winner has played just one official match and the friendly in Sydney this season. His future could be back in France, as according to 'Le Quotidien du Sport', Nice have contacted the player's entourage to consider signing him.

The former Lyon player has the approval of Christophe Galtier, coach of the French side. The idea is for him to replace Dante, who is already 38 years old. There, he would be reunited with a former Barça player like Jean-Clair Todibo, who after leaving Spain has performed at a high level in Ligue 1.
