Cyprus offers free Greek lessons to Ukrainian refugees

Cyprus has announced it will be offering free Greek lessons to Ukrainian refugees reported Cyprus Mail citing an announcement on Wednesday by the country's Ministry of Education.

According to the new report, the lessons d have been planned by the ministry’s afternoon lessons service (ΚΙΕ) and will take place during June and July of this year.

The initiative is co-financed by The Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund. Under the programme, Ukrainian refugees are exempt from tuition fees as well as registration of €10.

The courses will be held in one school per district with separate groups for children and adults. There will be three lessons a week, each lasting 45 minutes.

To register, interested applicants need to present government documentation confirming their refugee status.
