Retired Greek military chief to Ömer Çelik's invasion threats: "We are tired of your inarticulate screams and are not afraid"

Michail Kostarakos Omer Celik

Turkish provocations and the threats from Ömer Çelik that the Turks "may come one night" to invade the Greeks, received a response from the retired head of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, Michail Kostarakos.

Posting on Facebook in the direction of the spokesperson of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), General Kostarakos wrote: "A friendly piece of advice to the well-dressed Mr. Ömer Çelik who threatens us with the Turks suddenly coming one night.

"Not that we are afraid of them or that we are scared of the elegant Mr. Çelik, we are accustomed to his loud and provocative statements.

"On the other hand, he is a simple representative of a party that represents himself and like-minded people.

"I would advise Mr. Çelik and those who share his views to think about it many times, because as the song says (maybe he knows) 'they will be eaten by the black fish and salt water'.

"Apart from having to think about what will happen if we decide to come and meet them one night, I guess he has already found holes to hide in.

"This is what I would advise them: We are tired of your threats and inarticulate screams.

"And day and night our determination and their fate will be the same. Consider it, you still have a lot of time.

"Reconsider your threatening views and become dignified, peaceful, and civilized neighbours so that we can work together for the common good of our peoples."
