Greek Defence Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos was questioned in parliament by Mr. Dritsas MP regarding the possibility of sending S-300 systems or other anti-aircraft systems to Ukraine.
"We have no intention of sending the S-300s. We have no purpose in sending anti-aircraft guns from the Greek islands because we need them; they are operational. To send something, we must have arranged for its replacement.
"BMP-1 media reports existed and they preceded the Mitsotakis-Scholz agreement. I read them in the press, “We are getting ready to send BMP etc”. This is probably attributed to some excessive zeal on the part of Germany, which wants to show in every direction that it is moving to strengthen Ukraine now.
"From there on, of course, approaches are made, discussions are made. But that systems that we need, that are useful to us and above all operational, we have no intention of giving them” the Greek Defence Minister responded.
