Turkish press: Turkey still has sovereignty over 9 Greek islands, such as Lesvos, Chios and Samos

The Turkish press continues its anti-Greek delusion with non-existent claims after the repeated provocations by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his government.

This time, the Turkish newspapers even go so far as to "inform" the public, saying that there are 22 islands in the eastern Aegean which can be claimed by Ankara and have been given to Greece with the right of use under the condition of demilitarisation.

According to the Turkish newspapers, Ankara can claim 22 islands under the Lausanne Treaty, with Yeni Şafak  taking propaganda to another level, claiming that Turkey has sovereignty over 9 Greek islands!

Specifically, Milliyet writes that "some of the islands that Turkey can claim due to militarisation are Rhodes, Chios and Lesvos."

For its part, Yeni Şafak reports that 22 of the 23 islands are militarized and pose a "threat to Turkey", while only Halki is demilitarised.

In addition, the same publication states that Turkey has the sovereignty of 9 islands (such as Lemnos, Lesvos, Samos, Chios, Ikaria and Rhodes).
