Greece has suspended the acceptance of documents for visas from Russians

Greece Visa Application Center informed that the Greek consulates in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novorossiysk “for technical reasons” will suspend work from Monday, June 27, for an indefinite period.

Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) stated that the visa centre warned about the suspension of the acceptance of documents for visas from Russians yesterday, June 24.

One of the tour operator companies told ATOR that the reason for the suspension of work was the renewal of the visa centre system. How long it will take is unknown. According to ATOR, one of the tour operators was told at the consulate that the process of accepting documents for visas would resume, but the terms were not named.

In Greece, for the tourist season (from June 1 to September 15), restrictions on coronavirus were relaxed, abolishing the mandatory wearing of masks indoors and on aeroplanes.

Travelling to Greece also does not require vaccination certificates and PCR tests. The Alliance of Travel Agencies said that the Russians had no problems with registering for a Greek visa.
