Tom Hanks’ wife Rita Wilson, 65, cuts a stylish figure as she arrives in Athens for a music event

Tom Hanks’ wife Rita Wilson was spotted arriving in Athens on Saturday, just a week since she was defended by her actor husband, after being knocked over by a fan in New York.

The actress, 65, touched down in Greece for an event hosted by songwriter Desmond’s Child at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are officially citizens of Greece.

Hanks joined the Greek Orthodox Church upon marrying Wilson, who has Greek ancestry, in 1988. The couple owns property on the island of Antiparos and has produced a handful of films about Greek communities, including “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” “Mamma Mia!” and both of the film’s sequels.

“Greece is a haven,” Hanks told reporters at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards, he once told CNN.

“I’ve been around the world, I’ve been to the most beautiful places in the world, none of them tops Greece. The land, the sky, the water, it’s good for the soul, it’s a healing place.”

Hanks had been on the promotional trail for his new film Elvis in the USA, in which he plays Colonel Tom Parker. The film, by director Baz Luhrmann, stars Austin Butler in the titular role and Olivia DeJonge as Priscilla Presley.
