ΠΥΞ ΛΑΞ: Biggest selling band in Greek music history on its way to Australia

The biggest selling band in Greek History, ΠΥΞ ΛΑΞ, is on its way to Australia for a 3 city tour, bringing Down Under a musical experience for the ages, announced Giant Entertainment.

Australian audiences can expect to hear a repertoire of songs which changed the musical landscape of Greece, because just like the Beatles changed music in the West, Pyx Lax changed Greek music for good. Testament to their greatness is the multitude of Pyx Lax tribute bands around the world.

Pyx Lax is more than just an influential band, it's the soul, the emotion, and the voice of a generation, who seamlessly move between Rock, Traditional and Folk music whilst giving new life to the generations before them.

Pyx Lax recorded the great majority of their songs in Greek, with an exception of a few recordings. In 1999 they released the platinum cd-single "Let The Picture Do The Talking" (As "tin Ikona Na Milai") along with Sting and the Corsican group I Muvrini.

With over 20 million CD sales and the biggest grossing concert tour in Greek history, Pyx Lax bring to Australian capital cities a concert of epic proportions.

The song list is too huge to mention, their energy is too powerful to ignore, and their stage presence is too eclectic to disregard.

During their career, Pyx lax have collaborated with many Greek singers and musicians such as George Dalaras, Haris Alexiou, Vasilis Papakonstantinou, Katsimihas Brothers, Lavrentis Machairitsas, Miltiadis Paschalidis, Vasilis Karras, Makis Christodoulopoulos, Sotiria Leonardou, Melina Tanagri, Psarantonis, Lakis Papadopoulos, Domenica, ONAR, Theodosia Tsatsou, Mihalis Tzouganakis, Ilias Makridis and many more.

The name "Pyx Lax" (Greek: Πυξ Λαξ) derives from ancient Greek, meaning "Punching and Kicking", and was inspired by the title of a theatrical play which was taking place in Athens at the period in which the band was formed in 1989.
