A 28-year-old Romanian man was pulled from the sea dead today, after falling on a cliff on Mount Athos.
GR Times reported that the incident took place shortly after 11:00 am, when the 28-year-old driver lost control of his car and ended up in the sea, resulting in his death.
The visitor to the holy peninsula fell from a cliff at 25 metres on the provincial road Daphne – Karyon, ending up in the sea.
Four firefighters rushed to the scene with a vehicle to free him and drag the car from the sea. However, he had already lost his life in the fall.
