A provocative move was made by Turkish politician and chairman of the TDP (Party for Change in Turkey), Mustafa Sarigül, in the Greek capital.

He traveled to Athens and unfurled a Turkish flag in front of the Greek Parliament, while asking Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis not to ask for assistance from the US.

An article in Yeni Şafak, commenting on the tension between Greece and Turkey, describes the move of the TDP president to open the Turkish flag in front of the Greek Parliament as "interesting".

"Ask for friendship with Turkey. Mitsotakis, take your hand from the weapons. Come in peace, we are here," he added.
