The Hellenic Initiative Australia today announced that its special guest speaker for the 5th Digital Conversation Series live-webinar 'The Greek Dispora and Foreign Policy", is Mr Nikos Dendias, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Greece.

“We are delighted and honoured that the Foreign Minister will be addressing our audience at a time when we are all paying closer attention to global issues and foreign policy matters especially as they affect Greece,” said THI Australia’s President, Nicholas Pappas AM.

Mr Dendias has been spearheading a very pro-active and successful foreign policy which has seen Greece play a central role as a pillar of stability and growth in the broader region, while relations with the U.S. are at their historic apex.

After a decade of introversion that came part and parcel with the financial crisis, Greece has returned with full confidence to the forefront of the international stage led by Nikos Dendias as part of the Mitsotakis government.

Through a nexus of tripartite cooperation schemes, with Cyprus on the one hand, and Israel, Egypt, Jordan, UAE, Lebanon, France, and even Italy on the other, Greece is promoting good neighbouring relations and stability in the region.

The Hellenic Initiative's Digital Conversation Series continues to deliver the highest calibre international speakers that provide the Greek Diaspora with valuable insights and thought provoking discussion. Previous guest speakers have included Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic; Gianna Angelopoulou-Daskalaki, President of Greece 2021 Committee; Stephen Fry, proud philhellene, actor, comedian and author; and Dr Albert Bourla, Chairman & CEO, Pfizer. You can watch the past ‘In Conversation’ events on our YouTube channel.
