The official request of Greece to the USA for the acquisition of the fifth generation Stealth F-35 fighter jets is a key issue in Turkish media. The titles of publications in the printed and electronic press attest to this fact.

Speaking on a CNN Türk show about the results of the Biden-Erdoğan meeting in Madrid, military analyst Mete Yarar described the differences between the F-16s and the F-35s, stressing that: "Greece is trying to change the balance between the two countries, with superiority in the air".
As he pointed out, the balance is overturned with Greece's acquisition of the Rafale fighters, the European Metero and Scalp long-range missiles.
"We are talking about air-to-air and air-to-ground weapon systems and now they are doing it with the purchase of the F-35," he said.
