Ankara's discomfort is reflected in Turkish media reports on the joint military exercise between Greece and the USA "POSEIDON'S Wrath 22" in the wider area of Crete. The exercise involves 10 F-35 fighters and 14 F-15 fighters.
Turkish media express dissatisfaction that in a period of tense Greek-Turkish relations, the Americans are proceeding with a joint exercise with F-35s which they Turkey are excluded from purchasing, as reported by SKAI.
In fact, on Haber Global TV, they even commented negatively on the name of the exercise "Poseidon's Wrath", as according to their reasoning, Poseidon was the ruler of the seas.
"The US takes off the Greek air force with the F-35s that they didn't give us. They go and fly with F-16s and F-35s in the Aegean in an exercise called 'Poseidon's Wrath'. And the name is special as Poseidon was the ruler of the seas", said a political analyst on Haber Global.

At a time when everything shows that Turkey will hardly overcome the scope of the American Congress to be able to buy F-16 fighter jets and upgrade the existing ones, in Turkey it is easier to put the blame on .... the Greeks and Cypriot lobbies in the USA.
"The Greek and Greek Cypriot lobbies in the US stepped up their efforts to block the sale of F-16s to Turkey and released a video titled 'No to the sale of F-16s to Turkey'," CNN Türk reported.
"Their only goal is to prevent the sale of F-16s to Turkey. And this is a video that tries to tarnish the image of our country.
"The Greek and Greek Cypriot lobbies have been making propaganda as their only goal is to prevent the sale of these fighters."
