21-year-old Greek chess master Evgenios Ioannidis has taken out the international open chess championship Serbia OPEN 2022 that was held in Novi Sad between June 28th – July 6th reported Chessdom magazine.
According to the media outlet, the tournament attracted more than 400 entries from 41 countries with a sensational display by young Greek who won the Masters event in a field of 39 grandmasters and 68 international masters. scoring outstanding 8/9 points with performance of 2858, and clinched the Winner prize of 7.500 euros, grandmaster norm, and 40.8 rating points!
Meanwhile Indian grandmaster Chopra Aryan finished the event as the runner-up with 7.5 points, while Israeli GM Evgeny Zanan and Azerbaijani GM Aydin Suleymanli tied for the third place with 7 points, each. Scroll down for final rankings.
