Billionaire was conceived in 1998 by Italian businessman, F1 playboy, soccer tycoon and nightclub owner Flavio Briatore. Born in 1950, Briatore has worked previously as managing director of Benetton and guided two drivers to four world championships during his time as team principal for Renault. Briatore has amassed an enormous fortune throughout his life and has dated some of the world's most beautiful women, including Adriana Volpe, Elle Macpherson, Eva Herzigova, Heidi Klum and Naomi Campbell.
First opening Billionaire Porto Cervo, Briatore wished to create a nightclub that could bring back glamour and buzz to Italy's upscale Costa Smeralda, establishing a venue that quickly became a favourite destination amongst the international jet set.
'Billionaire' was the bold name chosen by Briatore because, in his own words, "Even if a bit arrogant… it's a name you don't forget," and the nightclub's fame soon turned it into a prestigious brand synonymous with outstanding service, excellent music and entertainment in an electrifying atmosphere.
