CRETE: 18-year-old British tourist raped by two Pakistani men

An 18-year-old British woman was allegedly assaulted and raped on the island of Crete reported The Sun newspaper.

The victim was reportedly lying on a sunbed on a beach in Rethymno when she was attacked by two men.

She immediately reported the incident to local police who investigated the matter and eventually arrested two Pakistani men aged 26 and 23.

A forensic examination is set to be carried out on the victim.

The news follows similar incidents involving foreign nationals. Earlier in May this year as  reported by Greek City Times, three illegal immigrants from Pakistan, aged 35, 25 and 28, were arrested on charges of attempted rape following an allegation from a 40-year-old Bulgarian national.

The Bulgarian and her 43-year-old Afghan companion lived together in a ground floor apartment in Larissa, and according to local media, the Afghan rented a room to the three Pakistanis.

On a particular evening, while her Afghan companion was absent, the three roommates – as the 40-year-old Bulgarian alleged – attempted to rape her.

The three Pakistani nationals, as well as the Afghan were arrested by police and taken to the Prosecutor General’s Office.
