Fire-fighting forces are battling rekindled fires on Lesvos

Fire-fighting forces were still battling flames rekindled in Rogada, Lesvos, on Tuesday morning, where the devastating fire in the south of Lesvos had started the previous Saturday.

Christos Triantopoulos, the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister, arrived on the island on Tuesday morning. After visiting the fire-stricken villages, Triantopoulos is to participate in a meeting of the Civil Protection Service of the North Aegean Region at the regional headquarters at 13:00, and then in a meeting at 14:30 at the General Secretariat of the Aegean and Island Policy.
