Kokkinakis returns to singles career-high will play doubles with Kyrgios in Atlanta open

Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis a match made in Heaven

The 26-year-old Greek Australian player improved 4 locations to world No.69 this week, matching the career-high he first achieved in June 2015.

Kyrgios is currently ranked No. 47 but did not receive any points from his maiden major final showing as a result of the ATP and WTA tours stripping ranking points away in response to the All England Club’s banning of Russian and Belarusian competitors.

Nick Kyrgios has accepted a surprise wildcard into the ATP 1000 Southern & Western Open in a huge boost for his US Open push.

The Wimbledon finalist is currently participating in the Atlanta Open, signed up for singles and the doubles draw with fellow Aussie Thanasi Kokkinakis, which they won the first round.

ATP 250 Atlanta - Hard (First Round) T. Kokkinakis/N. Kyrgios (AUS) def. N. Mahut/E. Roger-Vasselin (FRA) 7-6(8) 6-3
